Abstract

Include the students in literate practices of using written language, has been placed as one of the functions of the school. For this, is necessary that the teacher has a broad cultural training. Understanding that such training should be implemented from the beginning of the course, the subproject: Knowledge, educational and literacy practices: initial dialogue with continuing training, that compose the "Prodocência UFG 2011/2012," developed initiatives that sought to expand the literacy of undergraduates. The project was performed in meetings among teachers the education course and undergraduate students. The actions were geared towards promoting activity involving literature, cinema and music. Within this article, we will discuss activities with reading stories and books. The actions allowed the participants to experience both practical and aesthetic enjoyment of reading as socialization experiences of the reader teaching and training of readers.
