Abstract

VASCO, Edinei Oliveira  and  PINHEIRO, Veralúcia. Education and language: Elements for a critical introduction to linguistic prejudice. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2016, vol.21, n.1, pp.103-115. ISSN 1519-3993.  https://doi.org/10.5965/151939932112016115.

The aim of the paper was to analyze some ideas and conceptions about modern interaction between two phenomena - education and language - whose apparent epistemological and functional inseparability presents elements that contribute to the development of a critical introduction to linguistic prejudice. Linguistic prejudice is understood as a particular form of social prejudice that is effective within social relationships throughout the educational system - in which the modern school is considered a privileged and legitimate place for the transmission and imposition of language considered standard, official or "cult" - and through cultural domination and linguistic imposition. It is, therefore, a qualitative research with an analytical-descriptive methodology that uses bibliographic references related to the theme and objects of proposed studies.

Keywords : Cultural Denomition; Education; Language; Linguistic Prejudice.
