This papers wants to present some reflections on the theme of diversity and its interface with intercultural education, and the rights of underrepresented minority groups, at this case indigenous people. Thus, we chose the cultural studies field and its authors as reference, as well as Postcolonial Studies: Bhabha, Canclini, Stuart Hall, Grosfoguel and Dussel, also brazilian authors such as Paulo Freire, Silva and Candau. From these references and empirically based on indigenous peoples condition in Mato Grosso do Sul, in particular situation of indigenous grad students at public university - the knowledge relations and their basic rights. Finally, It is a theoretical study which is based on experiences at work among indigenous peoples in Mato Grosso do Sul.
