This article draws particular attention to teaching in higher education. It makes comparative judgments between available educational law in December 2001 and the indicators established by the Quality Patterns for College Studies to qualify the teaching staff, and the figure of a "good teacher". Based on a Review of Literature that searches for different definitions and postures about a "good teacher", the writer analyses and compares these indicators using the case study approach which included the following up of the implementation of an Institutional Program of Pedagogical Training. Finally, she recommends that Evaluation Patterns should take into consideration the indicators which appraise the teaching.
