The adoption of computer resources by education has increased the creation of hypermedia systems for specific educational purposes. The literature about these systems evaluation indicates new criteria are needed to judge not only the product itself - the educational hypermedia software - but also the process of using it. This article presents some results of a study on the application of an alternative approach to evaluate quality ans effects of hypermedia used in teaching-learning situations. The comparison between product evaluation made by specialists and user's evaluation confirmed that the evaluation of the educational software in real learning environments is an indispensable component of the alternative approach.
