At this, bibliographic character; short study we intend to defend the idea of the implementation of alternatives to the solution of the students' repetition and/or exclusion, in the evaluation process context, should be widely discussed by the school community, from the light of the policy-pedagogic project of the institution, what is one of the objectives of the National Curriculum Guidelines. We searched for theoretical references in authors who were interested in evaluation, for example Perrenoud (1998), Thurler (1998) and Sousa (1999), in educators that give importance to the policy-pedagogic project, like Gadotti (1994), Veiga (1995) and Hora (1996) and in productions related to significant aspects of the theme presented in the 22nd Meeting of ANPED (1999). The analysis of those authors' results enabled to reveal the challenges that are on the way of the authors, but also the favorable perspectives in the problems overcoming, if we analyze that in a participant and dialogic dimension.
