This article investigates, through a comparative study, the recent reforms of high school in Brazil and Argentina. The objective is to analyze how the official documents guiding these reforms deal with inequalities - in intentions and measures to be adopted - revealing convergences and divergences. With a qualitative approach, this bibliographic study and documentary analysis type of research includes, in particular: the Incheon Declaration; the Explanatory Memorandum (EM) nº 0084/2016/MEC; and the Argentine Federal Education Council (CFE) Resolution nº 230/2017. The main theoretical references used are the studies by Corrêa (2011); Yang (2015); Libâneo (2012; 2018); Nascimento (2018); Krawczyk and Ferretti (2017); Polizzi (2019); and Feldfeber and Gluz (2014). Among the results, it was identified that the reforms occur in a context of advances in Argentina and setbacks in Brazil, but the latter adopts measures incompatible with its expressed intentions, to improve the quality of education and reduce its inequalities.
