Abstract

The paper analyses the relationships between labor and education in the vocational courses of SENAI (Industries Social Services). Work, not as an element that defines human development but as employment on a salary basis, defined by the capitalistic relations of production, constitutes the basis for relationships between work and education in the vocational courses. The ideological concept of work rests upon this basis. The relationships machine-apprentice, instructor-apprentice and the set of learning relationships seek to, through the hands, fabricate the worker's mind. Although it constitutes a specific pedagogy - that of the capital (since it occurs within essentially contradictory social relationships) - the vocational education offered in institutions like SENAI causes this contradiction. In this sense the article points out to a way of recovering the vocational education for the interest of the worker.
