Outline of a broader research on the secretaries of private enterprises in Rio de Janeiro. Its aim was to draw a general profile of this profession, testifying the interdependence between professional and private life of the secretary. It includes some topics related to historical and sociological data on the profession and the analysis of women's insertion in the labor market.
