Abstract

LAJONQUIERE, Leandro de. Psychoanalysis and the debate on the disappearance of childhood. Educ. Real. [online]. 2006, vol.31, n.01, pp.89-105. ISSN 0100-3143.

There seems to be a difference in the way children behave today in comparison to the past. This would be new subjective productions that sometimes it is desirable but sometimes not. For this reason, we frequently find pedagogic and psychological ideas that try to embrace this new way of being a child, as the consequence of the disappearance of childhood that which is created by modernity. However, studies in Education and Psychoanalysis (tributaries of the idea of the infantile) make possible to produce a displacement on the idea supported by the naturalism and, therefore, it is inevitable to consider the return to a rest of a discursive production of childhood in the historical transformation to come.
