Abstract

The aim of this work is to discuss the contribution of the French historians Charles-Victor Langlois and Charles Seignobos to the constitution of a pedagogy of secondary school history in Brazil. As historians and professors, they have produced not only historical texts on the historical research methodology, but also texts on the history teaching methodology, and didactic books. Their works were read and mentioned by Brazilian teachers and didactic authors, which makes them of great importance to this study of the processes of circulation, appropriation and construction of knowledge in texts about education and history from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
