Abstract

LASTORIA, Luiz A. Calmon Nabuco. The development of technological rationality and its relation to pedagogy and didactics. Rev. Inter Ação [online]. 2014, vol.39, n.2, pp.285-295. ISSN 0101-7136.  https://doi.org/10.5216/ia.v39i2.31708.

Marcuse's concept of technological rationality is still quite real because it allows for a critical analysis of our society. When applied to education it shows how our social practices, objectively organized with the help of technological devices, supercede themselves and create systemic consequences. This article analyzes some of these consequences for educational policies and forms of school management by investigating day-to-day occurences in a small school in the São Paulo countryside.

Keywords : Technological Rationality; System; Autonomy.
