This text deals with theoretical and methodological elements for the construction of a new theory and practice in the area of Instructional Design on the basis of a dialectical materialistic concept of the teaching phenomenon considered as its object of study. Those elements are related to teaching dimensions - historical, anthropological, ideological, theological and epistemological, and express teaching characteristics in Brazilian schools as suggested by the intellectual production during the 80’s in Brazil. Such characteristic emphasize reductionism, principles, concepts, directions and research question in the construction of that Instructional Design theory and practice.
