This article aims to describe the experience of implementing a service of pedagogical support to academics at a private institution of higher education in the State of Bahia. In meetings between the teaching management board and their respective pedagogical support units, three macro-actions were established: pedagogical training actions, monitoring teachers' activities actions, and evaluation of teachers actions. The actions presented here were carried out in the Salvador teaching unit, during a sixteen months period. The unit offered twenty-seven undergraduate courses in the areas of Humanitites, Health and Hard Sciences, with an average staff of five hundred and fifty teachers. Teachers who participated in the actions and sought the pedagogical support demonstrated to be satisfied with this kind of initiative, and the constant adhesion of other teachers showed that the persistent effort and the relationship of mutual trust are essential to the success of teachers' educational qualification.
