With the objective of mapping scientific dissertations, theses and articles, having the theme of the Plano de Desenvolvimento Institucional [Institutional Development Plan] using a descriptive methodology, a qualitative approach and a bibliographical strategy, we sought to answer the following question: what is the relevant academic and scientific production on the subject, from 2012 to 2021, in the context of Avaliação Institucional nas Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior [Institutional Assessment in Federal Higher Education Institutions] in Brazil? A lack of up-to-date publications was noted, so we hope this research will foster reflections and discussions that favor multiple approaches and diverse and unprecedented perspectives about the evaluation planning for higher education in Brazil.
