Resumen

RABASA FERNANDEZ, Yamilka. Silences and resistance in Cuban women short story writing: an overview. Rev. Estud. Fem. [online]. 2022, vol.30, n.1, e75852.  Epub 01-Ene-2022. ISSN 1806-9584.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1806-9584-2022v30n175852.

In this work I propose to outline a panorama of narrative production (short stories) by Cuban women, based on literary criticism and discourse analysis. Specifically, this panorama will include a journey that began with the precursors in the 19th century, passing through the storytelling that emerged and was practiced during the first decades of the Cuban Revolution, until the resurgence of narrative by women in the Special Period, a context to which I will give special emphasis. As part of that overview, I will devote a space to the policy of silence observed in the artistic reality of Cuba, but I will also comment on the resistance movements through which they conquer a voice.

Palabras clave : Cuban short stories; Women; Production conditions.
