SCHWARTZMAN, Jacqes. Uma metodologia de avaliação de cursos de graduação. Ensaio: aval. pol. públ. educ. [online]. 1996, vol.04, n.12, pp.237-264. ISSN 0104-4036.

The experience in evaluating undergraduate courses is incipient and isolated in Brazil. Students evaluation al the end of the course, presently proposed by the Ministry of Education, is an important step for getting acquainted with the quality of undergraduate programs in the country. Other evaluation methods, however, may coexist and serve to different goals and concerns. We present a comparative evaluation model in this paper, by using traditional input variables (students, teachers, and infrastructure) and other variables of result. We discuss the question of choice and subjectivt1y involved in weighing the several indicators as well as the specificities inherent in course evaluation. The model was tested for all courses in economics, accounting, and administration in Minas Gerais, through a questionnaire application. The results for the several weighing sets are presented. Whether different weightings provoke significant changes in program organization was statistically checked. In mounting the questionnaire, we attempted to include questions that could be easily answered and quantifiable, avoiding open questions in such a way as not to require a large mobilization of people and time and that it could be repealed at regular intervals so as to function as a quick mode of signalizing.
