This text, analyzes the two lines that in last years have distinguished, the search of quality in schools. One of them tries, to carry to school the same searching of quality, methods and technique, adopted by industries. In the other hand, the second line tries to develop a methodology, considering the characteristics which are peculiar to schools. Examining the theories that are justified by these two lines, the text suggests, a new methodology, in a way to help educators to define and search quality in their work. This methodology sets up, definition identification and operational research, in order to classify two groups which are called "conditioner group" and "conditioned group". The first one is identified as a group of Political, Human and Technical aspects. The second, as effective, efficient, efficacious and relevant aspects.
