This article presents a research carried on five to seven year old gifted students from the Community of Madrid (Spain). It deals with an experience of educative attention to these students within the ordinary classroom. The study is grounded on theoretical research and school practice represented by a revision on northamerican gifted programs. From these bases, we designed the plan of identification and afterwards the program DASE (Development of thinking abilities: Analysis, Synthesis and Evaluation) which was implemented through two academic courses: pilot implementation (course 1995/96) and the experimental program the following year. At the end of the article we show the main outcomes derived from the statistical analysis carried on.
