The interest for the professional teaching is increasing all over the world, without any loss in the growing of higher education, today with approximately 82 million people enrolled. The recent UNESCO meeting in Paris clearly established a few essential characteristics for higher education in the XXI century: equality of opportunity (the student is the main element of the process), lifelong learning, valuing of women, and priority for teacher education and adequate and dignifying salaries for teachers. In the future, new modes of teaching and learning will be more and more prestigious, such as virtual schools and distance education, which have been increasing at a vertiginous pace, to transform the current university and create a post modem university and offer an amazing variety of courses, for a more intelligent access to the labor market.

Palabras clave : Professional Formation; Higher; Education; Teaching Quality; Virtual Schools; The Woman in the Education; Education at the Distance; Powder-Modem University.
