This article consists on a case study performed in a state school and in the educational authority, in the city of Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil, with a group of teachers of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and their Technologies and some staff members from the State Educational Authority. The main objective was to identify the perceptions of teachers and members of pedagogical area relative to the educational reform proposed by the National Curricular Parameters (PCNs), and what changes have been or are being implemented in classrooms. The main result is that few actions took place for the implementation of the PCNs at the school level and that opportunities were not offered for the teachers to acquire a comprehension of the reform proposed as a whole. Some hindrances appointed by them, and also the context of the intended reform are presented and discussed. Ways that may contribute for the implementation of the PCNs articulated with pre and in-service training are suggested.
