This paper describes the creation of centers of studies, reflection and elaboration of interdisciplinary projects put into practice in Rio de Janeiro public schools from 2000 to 2002 .They were called Center of Languages Project. They were based on two main ideas: interdisciplinarity and the use of new technologies mainly from 5º to 8º grade and the grades of high school (Brazilian educational system ). During teachers' training carried out by the Program, the participants were encouraged to design interdisciplinary projects based on current themes addressed to students aspirations. The use of new technologies along with the rise of critical mind became essential for update school.
