The constructionist approach has motivated the development of research on information communication technologies - ICT- as pedagogical tools with potential for knowledge construction situations. The research thus focuses on the permanent formation of a group of English teachers for the educational use of the Internet. We we guided by the following interrogation: is it possible to create a collaborative space where English teachers may study and research the potential use of the Internet in teaching and learning English. We implemented an English course for teachers of public schools in the city of Cascavel, state of Paraná, Brazil.. For this purpose, we implemented pedagogical actions (face-to-face and on-line) to permit for the 17 teachers to study, research, analyze and reflect upon the limitations and possibilities of building knowledge through the Internet. The survey data revealed that knowledge (operational or educational) of teachers is insufficient to promote change in practice using the Internet as a learning tool. They also revealed two groups of teachers, the first was more resistant to reflect on practice and incorporate the Internet as a teaching tool. The second, however, showed greater interest in reflection and innovative practices for teaching English using the Internet. Finally, the research enabled the creation of an educational space in which teachers participated in studies, practices and reflections on the use of the Internet as a tool for learning English.
