Abstract

PERALVA, Angelina. Work crisis in Western Europe: Crisis of society, crisis of education. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 1995, n.00, pp.94-101. ISSN 1413-2478.

Recent economic and political changes in Western Europe are analyzed, emphasizing the loss of the centrality of work in social life. These changes are not only reflected in growing unemployment, but also in more profound changes as regards the role of work in the process of production, where more flexible employment ties and smaller permanent staffs are ever more present. All these issues influence demands on education and the situation of the young population.
