Abstract

BEISIEGEL, Celso de Rui. Considerations about national education policy for illiterate youth and adults. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 1997, n.04, pp.26-34. ISSN 1413-2478.

A panorama is drawn portraying National policy for Youth and Adult Education based on the 1988 Constitution. It’s also shown how government policies on this theme have evolved over time. It evaluates the ever greater irresolution of the Brazilian State with this field of education. It also points out the necessity of perceiving education for illiterate youth and adults, within a class society, as political education that prepares people for life in society and for their struggle to affirm rights.
