This qualitative study was aimed to search for the perception of appraisers and appraised ones about the Teaching Appraisal in the Probation Phase in a Public Institution of Higher Education in Parana State; to understand this and instrumentate the Institution for its own improvement. The method in use was the case-study and the technique was the semi-structural interview. The collected data, were submitted to a content analysis technique, generating for empirical categories with the respective sub-categories. The analysis and interpretation of data showed apathy to the Appraisal Process and lack of involvement by the teachers, and they made known a logical posture about posture about the ingenuous conscience transition to the awareness, limiting their contribution for the Appraisal Process improvement.
