Abstract

GONZAGA, Marta Leardini; MACHADO, Vera Lúcia de Carvalho  and  CASTANHO, Maria Eugênia. Avaliação: reflexão e prática. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2008, n.25, pp.151-160. ISSN 1519-3993.

The objective of the text is to reflect on the idea of evaluation, given its importance and relevance in the teaching/learning process of education. First of all, a history of the world scenario is drawn showing the influence of capitalistic countries on worldwide educational policy, especially in what concerns the evaluation of educational processes and projects. Subjugated to the market logic of these countries, the school faces diverse crises to the extent of losing its essence. There follows a discussion of beliefs in relation to evaluation itself: its formative character, efficacy and significance. Planning and effective educational action are outlined. It is then necessary to define the idea of curriculum. For this purpose the concept of Miguel Zabalza is brought in, which affirms that by means of the curriculum the school ought to look for its proper identity in a way that corresponds to exigencies or demands of the social group to which it serves The text concludes by pointing out the need for continuing a deeper study of the questions of teaching, learning and evaluation.

Keywords : Evaluation; Curriculum; Planning.
