Abstract

The present article approaches the results of a research in which the goal is to understand and to identify some educational strategies in families with children who have high school grades and better score. This investigation has used questionnaires and interviews with parents and students of a private school in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. The analyses have showed the intense motherly following, the readings and writings since the childhood, the discipline in the studies at home, the family encouragement to get high grades and the high investment in children’s education. One of the purposes of this article is to offer some subsidies to keep a debate on the values attached to these families as well as to explain the way children from these families got high school grades and better score.
