Resumo

Given the precarious use of the Alternative Communication Board at different levels of schooling, it is necessary to implement research that promotes the expansion and effectiveness of its use with students with speech restrictions. The study aimed to analyze part of the production of scientific knowledge about the conceptions, purposes and modes of construction of the Alternative Communication Board. This is an integrative review of articles published in journals indexed in databases. From the application of Inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected 12 studies that became part of the analysis corpus. As for the results, it is noteworthy that of the participants involved in the research, 50% were teachers and students; 25% were teachers, students and family members; 8% were only students and family members; 8% were students, professors and researcher and 8% were only students. Regarding the age group of the students, 83% of the participants were children, 18% were adolescents and 8% were of no defined age. Sixty-six percent of students were enrolled in regular schools and 33% in special schools. As for the purpose, the use of the Alternative Communication Board was intended to promote interaction/dialogue. It is concluded that the growing presence of students with restricted orality in the educational context highlights the need to implement studies that contribute to interactions between the different professionals involved in the teaching-learning processes.
