Abstract

SA, Jauri dos Santos  and  WERLE, Flavia Obino Corrêa. SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE: MATERIAL CONDITIONS OF SCHOOLS AND STUDENT PERFORMANCE. ETD - Educ. Temat. Digit. [online]. 2022, vol.24, n.3, pp.651-670. ISSN 1676-2592.  https://doi.org/10.20396/etd.v24i3.8663778.

This study seeks to analyze, from the perceptions of municipal education managers and principals of municipal elementary schools in the Vale do Rio dos Sinos (RS) region, the interdependence between school infrastructure and student performance in standardized exams, considering data from the Basic Education Development Index – IDEB. The methodology used is exploratory in nature with data collection through a structured questionnaire and technical visits. The theoretical framework is supported by the discussions of Casassus (2003), Certeau (2012), Santos (1988), among others. In the analyzed context, the data show that learning in a welcoming and pleasant environment is important and stimulating for the student.
