Abstract

CARDOSO, Cintia Aurora Quaresma  and  OLIVEIRA, Ney Cristina Monteiro de. CONCEPTIONS OF INTEGRAL AND FULL-TIME EDUCATION IN BRAZIL: REFLECTIONS BASED ON THEORETICAL AND LEGAL BASES. e-Curriculum [online]. 2020, vol.18, n.4, pp.2074-2094.  Epub Jan 20, 2021. The study aims to analyze the concepts of integral and full-time education that exist in the country and their implications in improving the quality of public education. To achieve the objective, we opted methodologically for a qualitative approach, through bibliographic review and documentary study. The data reveal that there is a predominance of experiences of expanding the school day aimed at extending time in spaces outside the school, to the detriment of various activities developed at the school. In this sense, it is essential that policies to increase school time are linked to policies to strengthen educational units, enabling regular and sufficient financial resources for education, improving working conditions and the physical infrastructure of the school network.

Keywords : Integral education; Full-time education; Quality of education.
