The aim of this paper is to discuss the relationship between changes in teaching practices of literacy teachers, education principles and the aim to "contribute to the improvement of the literacy teachers' education" proposed by the Pacto Nacional pela Alfabetização na Idade Certa (National Pact for Literacy at the Right Age), from the analyses of the results of a survey applied at the end of the first year of the adoption of this program in Mato Grosso - Brazil. This paper focuses on data of the profile of literacy teachers, which were worked through content analysis (BARDIN, 2002) and Many Eyes application. The synthesis responses are discussed based on the relationship between changes in pedagogical practices of literacy teachers, the education principles and the process of education conducted by this Pact in 2013. The results point to some contributions of the program and indicate opportunities for future researches.
