Abstract

SILVA, Dulcinéa Campos  and  GONTIJO, Cláudia Maria Mendes. Curriculum proposal and literacy assessment in Espírito Santo. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2020, vol.26, e26417.  Epub July 28, 2020. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc.v26.2020.26417.

This article aims to analyze the theoretical basis of the curriculum proposal implemented in the state of Espírito Santo, in the 1970s, to meet the principles of teaching innovation promoted in the new Law No. 5. 692/71. It focuses on curriculum aspects related to literacy and, especially, the learning evaluation model adopted in order to verify the effectiveness of the curriculum regarding the increase of approval rates and its adequacy to the levels of cognitive development of children. It is characterized as a documentary research, as it analyzes documents / texts produced in the period. From the analysis, it is concluded that the evaluation has served to shape an organizational model of teaching and learning, and, despite helping to verify the effectiveness of the curriculum; both the curriculum and the evaluation did not contribute to significantly decrease dropout rates and repetition in public schools of Espírito Santo.
