The text is the result of research on art and its consequences in Early Childhood Education, with a focus on the teaching internship and its formative potential. The academic’s activities and knowledge present the art and its potency in working with children in the internship. It addresses the importance of art in the Pedagogy course, emphasizing research, experimentation and reflection. The results show that the understanding of children and their potential experienced in Early Childhood Education diverge from the conceptions contained in the guiding documents and those practices that reduce the creation proposals through models and limited material persist, reflecting on the intern's actions.
