Abstract

SOUZA, Bianca Gomes de  and  GARCIA, Sandra Regina de Oliveira. High School Reform and the possible impacts on the Federal Institute of Paraná. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2022, vol.16, e83313.  Epub May 30, 2023. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v16i0.83313.

The article examines the High School Reform (Law 13.145/17) seeking to understand the possible impacts on the Brazilian education, specifically on the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR), pointing out the divergences between the Law 13.425/17 and the existing documents, which establish the functions of the High School at this institution. Through bibliographic analysis and documentary research, the theoretical framework was found in researches, which investigate High School Education in Brazil, in studies already carried out about the aw, in other aws and in documents published nationwide and statewide about the New High School. It is noteworthy that, so far. this reform has not taken place at IFPR and there are resistance movements gaining strength against it. It is evident that the reform negatively impacts education and distances it from contextual learning, which reconciles technical and scientific knowledge, contradicting the Institute’s identity, which the main objective is integrative learning.
