Abstract

SANTOS, Edson Cordeiro dos; OLIVEIRA, Eline Moreira Ferreira de  and  COELHO, Stephani Oliveira. The politics of the unpredictable: the intersectoriality in the implementation of action in Child Education during the Pandemic. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2022, vol.16, e85511.  Epub May 30, 2023. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v16i0.85511.

The paper demonstrates a branch of the research on evaluation on/of Child Education performed in one Federal University. Through studies about materials, educational proposals and actions in three cities from the state of Rio de Janeiro, among the 17 cities investigated, analyses the implementation of intersectorial public policies elaborated during the period of sanitary emergency caused by the new Coronavirus (Sars-CoV2) in the scope of Child Education, specially the ones related to the distribution of materials (physical or online) and feeding, as much as the judicialization of the topic. The methodology used was bibliographic research of the public policies, specially about the implementation phase, and the electronic research in websites and sharing networks of the selected cities, from official documents and informations, to observe which public policies of Pandemic confrontation had a direct (or indirect) relation to public Child Education. The acknowledgement of the Pandemic by the World Health Organization in March, 2020 had as a consequence the physical “closure” of the schools to the access of students in 03/16/2020, with a hard to determine deadline for return. The differences between the cities studied were evident, even in cities close geographically and similar contexts. This unprecedented scenario showed these fragilities and should be further analyzed so that policies implemented in this period do not reinforce the educational discrepancies instead of mitigating them.

Keywords : Child Education; intersectoriality; policy implementation; judicialization.
