Abstract

TRENTIN, Valéria Becher. The understanding of Youth and Adult Education teachers about Santa Catarina's special education policy. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2023, vol.17, e90996.  Epub Oct 11, 2023. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v17i0.90996.

This article aims to analyze the teachers' understanding of the Special Education Policy of Santa Catarina in the context of a Center for Youth and Adult Education (CEJA). The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with the participation of three teachers who work in the teaching modality. Content analysis of the semi-structured interviews enabled reflections on how SC's Special Education Policy is understood in the context of the institution. The results revealed that the understanding of the Special Education Policy of Santa Catarina involves a process immersed in conflicts and contradictions, which demonstrated the need for commitment to overcome exclusionary practices reproduced in the school, as well as to promote the overcoming of the exclusive character of Education Special in times of inclusion.
