This bibliographic article aims to unveil Bernard Charlot's notions of Knowledge Relationship before two objects met in the spectrum of education: the school and the student. We will also try to delineate the basic elements that compose it such as desire, meaning and mobilization, besides highlighting its epistemological origin. The Knowledge Relationship has a Lacanian psychoanalytical basis and its theoretical and practical approach to problematize in education issues that involve the subjects in the teaching and learning process. Thus, we come to the following question for the unveiling of this work: are the students’ meaning the same in relation to teaching and learning? It is concluded that the meaning of the school for the teacher differs from the student regarding the process of learning. And it demonstrates it is not very clear the symbolic logic of school teaching methods for student's learning process.
