Abstract

This research investigated how educational literature is approaching distance continued formation of teachers by analyzing national journals classified A by the Qualis/CAPES evaluation process, also including the papers presented in the annual meetings of the National Association of Graduated Courses and Research in Education and the articles published by the Brazilian Journal of Educational Technology over a period of five years (2000-2004). From 37 articles found and analyzed it was verified that more than half align themselves to the emancipatory perspective, what suggests a movement of overcoming the instrumental vision that marked student formation in the years of 1970 and 1980. The presence of significant contributions, that can subsidize the (re)formulation of this formation, was identified.
