Educators need to think about the meaning of philosophy as the basis of their daily praxis. It is here considered that Education must have the Person as center of the process. The main problem in Education is understanding the Person. Theoretical foundation of this article are Dietrich von Hildebrand, Jacques Maritain, and Alasdair MacIntyre ideas. Hypothesis is the necessity to education to be organized according to the nature of the Person. The objective of this article is to develop argumentation to show how important it is to pay attention to the Person if there is the desire to educate human beings. Six topics were discussed: Love, Ethics/Values; Character; Consciousness; Will and Freedom. Methodological approach is Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutics because this allows the author to explore different perspectives and to understand what the philosophers and others wanted to express. Philosophers and educators ask about the Education concerning the Person as a real and concrete human being living in a social context. The topics give opportunity to understand this relation. It is possible to conclude that Educating the Person is the way for teachers and all professionals working with children and adolescent to demonstrate respect for the human being.
