Thus, this article aims to analyze and reflect on the challenges faced by the 21st century literacy teacher, in carrying out his work with a focus on literacy and literacy, thus, seeking to analyze the different practices and understand the conceptions about the processes reading and writing, according to the conception of Teberosky (2003) and Ferreiro (1971). It is bibliographic research, shielded by Marconi and Lakatos (2017), for its seriousness as an initial step in the construction of an investigation process. In the results and discussion, reflections on literacy and literacy are presented, aiming at understanding that both are processes that go together and are inseparable, both about theory and pedagogical practice, supported by bibliographic reviews by renowned authors such as: Soares (2016), Ferreiro (2017), Lorenzetti (2001) and Berberian (2009) and among others.
