Abstract
ALMANSA, Sandra Espinosa. WAYS TO TREAT THE BODY, WAYS TO CREATE THE WORLD: a foucauldian look about cinema in the film I, Pierre Rivière. Revista Teias [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.72, pp.66-78. Epub Aug 03, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305. https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2023.61690.
The article makes use of some of the interviews that constitute the cinematographic corpus of Michel Foucault's Ditos e Escritos, and of some films, especially the film I, Pierre Rivière, having slaughtered my mother, sister and brother, directed by René Allio, whose screenplay was adapted from the homonymous work published under the direction of the philosopher. Based on Foucault's archaeo-genealogical view of the films, the text problematizes, in an aesthetic-political perspective and through a specific approach, the one in which his greatest interest in cinema would have consisted: as a way to treat the body. Through the encounter between the body and the cinema, the article discusses questions concerning the relations between images, discourse, history and memory, among which is posed as a problem for education the question of the spectator and the subjective processes that find in cinema tools of creation, transformation and struggle.
