Philosophy education in Brazil: historical, political and legislative thoughts is a study which focus on understanding the teaching conditions of philosophy in Brazil nowadays. Starting with a thorough analysis of the reasons that induce the discipline to be removed from high school curriculum while throughout twentieth century, even if, curiously, philosophy be taught in Brazil since the sixteenth century, this study aims to discuss the roots and purposes of this dilemmatic question.
