Abstract

MELO, Antongnioni Pereira; VASCONCELOS, Nelson Adriano Ferreira de  and  FONSECA NETO, João César da. The role of technology in education in pandemic times: conceptions about Paulo Freire's legacy. Rev. Reflex [online]. 2022, vol.30, n.1, pp.201-216.  Epub Aug 22, 2023. ISSN 1982-9949.  https://doi.org/10.17058/rea.v30i1.16011.

This article analyzes Brazilian education in times of Covid-19, the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in front of the categories of oppression and exclusion, present in Paulo Freire’s work. The bibliographical and exploratory research, based on Freirean life and thought, studied the increased use of ICTs during the health crisis, and the contradictions that emerged from the relationships of oppression-liberation and inclusion-exclusion that impacted school life in this scenario. Finally, reflections are offered based on the inconclusions regarding this topic, with a view to new epistemological incursions.

Keywords : Covid-19; Exclusion; Oppression; Paulo Freire; Information and Communications Technology.
