To carry out this work, we seek to analyze how the teaching of quantities and measures in the Curriculum Parameters for Basic Education of the State of Pernambuco is presented. The research presents a qualitative approach, with documentary character, in which we use the theoretical support of Lima and Bellemain (2010) in the analysis of the produced data. These authors discuss the teaching and learning processes related to the field of quantities and measures in basic education. As a result, we find that both proposals converge in discussions about the work of the Quantities and Measures throughout schooling. We emphasize that, both in the document analyzed and in the mentioned theoretical framework, there is a culmination in relation to the justification used to defend the work with the Quantities and Measures throughout the basic education, they are: the social relevance, and the articulations with the other fields Mathematics and other school subjects.
