Based on national and international research from 1943 to 2022, the aim of this manuscript was to discuss perspectives on the inclusion of autistic people in science classes. It is a bibliographical investigation that resulted in 19 articles (eight national and 11 international) being analyzed under the theoretical-methodological guidance of Historical-Cultural Theory and Historical-Dialectical Materialism. We found that most of the pedagogical intervention research took place in Specialized Educational Care rooms without any relationship with the peers in the ordinary classroom. Many of them were fragmented pedagogical actions without an articulated and continuous proposal in school projects. We identified a few justifications for teaching science knowledge to contribute to overcoming the explicit interruptions - the difficulties people with autism face in terms of communication and social bonds. We point to the need to expand research in science teaching with students on the autistic spectrum.
