FIGUEIREDO, Tarcísio; MORAES DE ALMEIDA LOPES, Arilise  y  FERREIRA DE CARVALHO MANSUR, Odila Maria. Communication and socialization of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: technology as a learning tool. Rev. Educ. Espec. [online]. 2023, vol.36, e74166.  Epub 10-Nov-2023. ISSN 1984-686X.  https://doi.org/10.5902/1984686x74166.

Communication and the teaching and learning process of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder point to the need for continued training of professionals, both regents and mediators, in view of the lack of strategies, technological resources and, often, the unpreparedness of teachers professionals to stimulate students from the early school years. The objective of this work is to present the results of a continuing education course for regents and mediators, bringing an excerpt from a master's research with results from the third unit developed for the course. The research presents a qualitative approach and exploratory investigation. Its procedure is the pedagogical intervention based on the socio-interactionist theoretical contribution that brings technology as a mediation instrument in learning and, in addition, gamification as a possible teaching and learning strategy. To collect data from this course unit, the following were used: discussion forum, activity proposed to course participants and messaging application. The result of interactions and responses, as well as the use and application of the tools and proposed actions were enough to identify improvements and construction of knowledge that provided improvements in the inclusive pedagogical practice of the participants. Such improvements can be used by other teaching professionals who receive children with autism spectrum disorder in their schools.
