This article aims to analyze the active methodologies that can be used as didactic strategies in legal education, giving new meaning to traditional education, based on the role of the student and the mediating role that the teacher can assume. Documentary and bibliographic research on the subject was used in order to identify the contributions that active methodologies can develop in law students. The results show that active methodologies can significantly change legal education, to create critical and reflective environments that allow both students and teachers to streamline the teaching and learning process during legal education, also contributing to changes in reality in which they live.
