Abstract

CLATES, Daniela de Moura; FIGHERA, Adriana Claudia Martins  and  CAMARGO, Maria Cecília da Silva. The academic master in the process of professional development of Physical Education teachers. Rev. Motriviv. [online]. 2020, vol.32, n.62, e67704.  Epub May 01, 2020. ISSN 2175-8042.  https://doi.org/10.5007/2175-8042.2020.e67704.

This article is the result of an investigation that aimed to understanding how the accomplishment of the academic master's degree, by Physical Education teachers of the Santa Maria/RS Municipal School, has repercussions on the professional development process of these teachers. The study was based on a literature review and biographical interviews (semi-structured). The focus of analysis was the academic master's degree and its consequences in the professional development of teachers. Thus, it was understood that the process of professional development to a large extent seems to have been influenced by the completion of the academic master's degree in different ways. The diversity present in the processes does not prevent a convergence in relation to the recognition of its repercussion on the pedagogical practices for some teachers, or on the teaching identity of others.

Keywords : Academic master; Professional development; Physical education.
