Abstract

HILDEBRANDT-STRAMANN, Reiner  and  HATJE, Marli. Physical Education as a school subject: reflections on disciplinarity in school education. Rev. Motriviv. [online]. 2021, vol.33, n.64, e82003.  Epub June 25, 2021. ISSN 2175-8042.  https://doi.org/10.5007/2175-8042.2021.e82003.

This article aims to discuss the discipline of physical education in school education, at the institutional and curricular levels. Both the development of the school institution and the development of school knowledge must be seen in their connection to each other in order to understand the function of school knowledge. In a first stage, the relationship between the development of the school as an educational institution and the school's mission is to be responsible for the development of school knowledge. In a second stage, the development of school subjects in connection with the development of school knowledge is discussed. In the third stage, an anthropological legitimation is fundamentally sought for the immediate implantation of the Physical Education discipline in the canon of school subjects in the basic education curriculum.
